New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been selflessly helping the people especially the migrant workers and stranded people outside the country ever since the implementation of the nationwide lockdown. The real-life hero also extended his helping hand to many other needy people with their requirements in this time of distress. The ‘Dabbang’ actor has been honoured with the title of ‘Messiah’ by the people for his tireless service to the nation during the time of COVID-19.
Sonu Sood has added many feathers to his cap for his selfless duty towards the nation and its people. From having a department named after him in an educational institution in Andhra Pradesh, to being the State Icon of Punjab, the actor has been honoured in all parts of the country.
The actor is, however, now all set to get honoured internationally as the prestigious Scandinavian Bollywood Festival Norway has decided to honour the ‘Prithviraj’ actor with the ‘Humanitarian of the year 2020’ award. This award will be presented virtually to Sood on December 30th by the Mayor of Lørenskog, Oslo, Norway Ms Ragnhild Bergheim.
Festival Director of Bollywood Festival Norway Nasrullah Qureshi told Bollywood Hungama, “Sonu Sood has been working selflessly for the cause of the whole humanity and that too at an extremely tough time. Our entire team unanimously decided to honour him for his brilliant and inspiring work. It seems like a homecoming for Sonu since his film Dabangg had its world premiere at Bollywood Festival Norway where Salman Khan was present and now Sonu is the chosen one for this year’s most special award.”
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Sonu Sood will be next seen in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Prithviraj’. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, this movie is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. Other than Sood and Kumar, this historical action drama will also star Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt and Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles.
