New Delhi: One of Bollywood’s most favourite couples Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been hogging all the limelight with their cute and adorable chemistry. There were reports doing the rounds earlier this year that the lovebirds will tie the knot by the end of this year. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, everything changed and in one of his latest interviews, the ‘Brahmastra’ actor revealed that they would have been married if the coronavirus pandemic had not hit their lives.
While in an interview with a leading entertainment journalist, Ranbir revealed that he has spent his lockdown watching movies, reading books and spending time with family. He further went on to reveal that his girlfriend Alia Bhatt took classes during the lockdown. The ‘Wake Up Sid’ actor told Rajeev Masand, “My girlfriend Alia is a bit of an overachiever, and she probably took every class there is – from guitar to screenwriting. I always feel like an underachiever next to her. But no, I didn’t take any classes. Initially, we were dealing with the family crisis, and then I got into reading, spent time with my family, and I watch two-three films every day.”
Speaking about his marriage plans, Ranbir said that though he does not want to ‘jinx’ it by saying but they would have been already married if the COVID-19 pandemic had not ‘hit their lives’. He said, “I don’t want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life.”
Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, revealed that she has no plans to get married now as she needs to focus on her career.
Ranbir and Alia spent the lockdown with each other and according to reports, the ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actress had recently bought an apartment in the same complex as Ranbir’s.
The couple will be next seen starring together in Ayan Mukerji’s next ‘Brahmastra’. Other than the lovebirds, the film will also star Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles.
