For this, the deadline has been given to all the franchisees till 20 January, so that they can submit its list of retained and released players to the IPL Governing Council.

According to reports, an important decision regarding IPL 2021 was taken in the meeting of the IPL Governing Council on Monday. In this meeting, however, no final decision could be made on the venue and commencement date of the league.

Also, where the players’ auction will take place, no decision has been taken on this. However, it is certain that the players’ bid for IPL-14 will take place between the first and second Test of India’s home series against England in February.

The first 2 matches of the Test series against England are to be played in Chennai. The first Test will be played from 5 to 9 February while the second Test will be held from 13 to 17 February. In this context, the auction for IPL 2021 can also be conducted in Chennai itself.

Punjab has the biggest budget for IPL 2021 Auction

For this year’s auction, Kings XI Punjab has the highest budget of 16.5 million rupees. At the same time, Chennai Super Kings has the least money in their purse. Rajasthan has Rs 1.75 crores, Hyderabad franchise has Rs 10.1 crores, Delhi has Rs 9 crores, KKR has eight and a half crores, RCB has Rs 6.4 crores and Mumbai Indians have Rs 1 crores 95 lakhs left.
