Deadline for filing of the Income Tax Returns (ITR), for the assessment year 2020-21, by individuals has been extended by 10 days from December 31 2020 to January 10, 2021. Finance Ministry in an order issued on Wednesday considered that taxpayers are facing challenges in meeting compliances due to COVID-19, hence the deadline has been extended.

Due date for those whose accounts are to be audited has been extended to February 15, 2021 and deadline for companies has been extended by 15 days to February 15, 2021.
